Chemical Peels

Jessner Peel

Jessner Peel was designed to remove superficial layers of skin, dry out active acne, reduce shallow wrinkling and scarring, help lighten hyper pigmentation, improve the overall appearance and health of sun-damaged, acne prone, aging skin.

Jessner Peel consists of three main ingredients, Lactic Acid (assists in the exfoliation of the skin), Salicylic Acid (aids in penetration), and Resorcinol (assists in the treatment of acne). These ingredients work together to exfoliate the outer layers of skin by breaking up dead skin cells. Your face is thoroughly cleansed, then the Jessner solution is applied, 2-5 coats are applied for the best possible results, a calming mask is applied to the face at the end of the treatment and you can go about the rest of your day. If necessary, the Jessner Peel can be repeated every four weeks until the desired results are achieved, however for most patients, only one treatment is required. Contra indications for anyone considering a Jessner Peel: lupus, eczema, rosacea, psoriasis, chronic skin disorders and dermatitis conditions.

Salicylic Acid Peel

A salicylic acid peel is a light, superficial chemical peel that only affects the outer layers of the skin. This means that the results are limited only to the epidermis, and does not damage deeper layers, it has a shorter recovery time and less painful side effects, best results are achieved for those with acne-prone and oily skin. This type of peel can be applied every two weeks until desired results are achieved. Salicylic Acid Peel is not recommended if you have an allergy to aspirin.

A salicylic acid peel works to improve several skin conditions, such as:

  • Acne
  • Blackheads
  • Clogged Pores
  • Congested (oily) Skin

TCA Peel

A TCA peel works to improve uneven skin tone, damaged skin, fine lines, melasma, hyperpigmentation and facial scarring.

TCA is a non-toxic chemical (trichloracetic acid), which has been used to preform skin peels for over 20 years. It is a relative of vinegar (acetic acid). When TCA is applied to the skin, it causes the top layer of cells to dry up and peel off. When the old skin is peeled off, it exposes a new layer of undamaged skin, which has a smoother texture and more even color. As soon as you finish peeling you will see results, your skin should continue to improve for 30-60 days as long as you are protected from the sun.
